On this week’s podcast, writer-director Maggie Betts is here to talk about her film, “Novitiate.” The tale of one nunnery struggling to come to terms with Vatican II, the film stars Margaret Qualley and Melissa Leo.
This is Betts’ first narrative feature film and it is quite the debut. Although we won’t be reviewing it here at the site, it is a strong, intriguing, film that takes the viewer inside this cloistered world.
Take a listen to how Betts developed the movie, what she learned about the history, and just how much of the work changed on set.
