
There is nothing necessarily wrong with “50 Shades of Grey.” That is, I don’t have a problem with the subject material even if I’m not enthused by the way it’s handled.
There is also nothing wrong with women of a certain age discussing “50 Shades” in their book club or in “Book Club,” which is out on digital today and Blu-ray on August 28th. That said, there doesn’t really feel like much of a point to it. The discussions feel like a way to put people in the seats and, as such, it lessens the movie.
