For this week’s podcast, I did something unthinkable — I sat down and watched one of the movies I had recorded on my TiVo years ago but then never actually watched. There are a decent number of such movies sitting there on the box and so I selected one, “Cloud Atlas,” and turned it on.
That was a mistake. It was a tremendous mistake. “Cloud Atlas” may be beautiful but it is an absolute disaster of a film. The real question though is not why “Cloud Atlas” fails, but what I may have learned from diving into the archives. Take a listen and find out.
