In “Gemini Man,” Ang Lee gives us the tale of a retired hitman being chased by his clone. It is a mirroring, one Will Smith versus another and it works well. In “I See You,” we get a half a story which is then told again from a different point of view. It, too, is a mirroring but it is not “Rashomon.” It is just stepping through the looking glass to see it differently and, consequently, it does not work.
Up on today’s podcast, we discuss both films and why one works and the other doesn’t. Plus, we do it all with a cold, so that provides for some fun vocals.
Listen, subscribe, wish us good health, and enjoy.
