This week’s “Lass is More” minisode takes a gander at two recent blu-ray releases, “Dope” and “Pixels.” I don’t want to give too much away here about what I’m going to say when you click below to listen, but I’ll give you a hint or two.
I know that I am bothered by things in movies that don’t seem to bother other people, but there are moments that stick with me totally and completely in some films. These are things that, no matter how good so much of them might be, end up leaving a bad taste in my mouth. I don’t know why this happens and, worse, I don’t know why other people don’t see things in the same light. They seem so obvious and clear in my world, but maybe I’m not looking at it from the right angle.
What we have this week with “Lass is More” is my attempt with both “Dope” and “Pixels” to give the moment where I think things go wrong. The moment that sticks with me. In the case of one film, it’s pretty early on and I’m generally distressed by the movie and in the other, it’s closer to the end and I’m more heartbroken about it.
Listen and enjoy. Complain if you want, but enjoy.
