Not so many a year ago, I lived near the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose.  One of the moderate disappointments of my life is never having gotten the opportunity to visit the place despite being in the area for a while.

That sense of longing has only deepened with the release of “Winchester,” a film about the building of the house… or at least one moment from the building… or at least a fictionalized story around one moment from the building… or something.
