Steven Spielberg’s “Saving Private Ryan” is out today in a 20th anniversary edition and that makes it the perfect time to talk about the movie once more.
It is, in this reviewer’s eyes, a work of genius. It is gripping and wrenching and heartwarming. It asks incredible questions, shows the long term weight of war, and doesn’t give easy answers.
