“Downton Abbey: A New Era” but Maybe not so Much

Currently out on Blu-ray and digital is the second “Downton Abbey” movie, “Downton Abbey: A New Era.” Of course, if you watch the movie, you’ll be hard-pressed to find out what’s so new about it.

Here’s the deal… we love this cast and we love these characters, but that doesn’t mean we necessarily love the story that’s being told this time out. There is something that feels more obligatory than engrossing about the endeavor. Of course, that doesn’t mean that we want the franchise to end. Quite the opposite in fact, we definitely want a third outing.
