Being a dreamer is a good thing. Wait, no, check that. Being a dreamer can be a good thing, it isn’t automatically one. There is a point at which the rubber must meet the road, and in the Francis Ford Coppola film “Tucker: The Man and his Dream,” which is currently out on Blu-ray, the two never quite connect.
Jeff Bridges is absolutely wonderful in the lead role, but that isn’t quite enough to allow the movie to get past its desire to ignore Preston Tucker’s shortcomings. In an otherwise wonderful film, it’s a glaring shortcoming.
